Dutch landscapes

When we were in Alaska, we went bushwalking with a ranger, and she asked if there was wilderness in the Netherlands. There is not. There is some cultivated nature, with forests, moors, dunes and beaches, designated for recreational purposes. With visitor centres, walking paths, biking trails, parking spaces, restaurants, roads and fences to protect sensitive areas. And you are never on your own. But it’s all we have, and I like going into these areas for a short walk, especially in autumn and winter. To leave town for a while.

Pictures taken over the last couple of weeks at Veluwezoom, Hoek van Holland and Meijendel. All Fuji x100t
